The Reality

The Numbers Don't Lie

2,500 Teen Deaths Per Year

Nearly 2,500 teens aged 13–19 are killed in motor vehicle crashes in the US every single year.

285K ER Visits Annually

About 285,000 teens are treated in emergency rooms for crash-related injuries every year — many life-altering.

$11.8B In Losses Each Year

The combined medical and work-loss costs of teen crashes total an estimated $11.8 billion annually.

#1 Highest Risk Age Group

Teens aged 13–19 face a higher crash risk than any other age group — and alcohol or distraction makes it far worse.

How to Stay Alive

Drive Smart

01 📵

Phone Down. Always.

Reading a text at 55 mph means driving the length of a football field with your eyes closed. Use Do Not Disturb while driving — no notification is worth a crash.

02 🚫🍺

Never Drink & Drive

Alcohol impairs your judgment, reaction time, and coordination. Even a little. If you've been drinking, call a rideshare, call a friend, call anyone — just don't drive.

03 🪑

Fewer Passengers = Safer

Every extra teen in the car increases crash risk. Conversations distract. Peer pressure to speed or show off is real — own your lane and your decision-making.

04 💤

Drowsy Driving is Drunk Driving

Being awake for 18 hours impairs you like a 0.08 BAC. Don't drive exhausted. Pull over, rest — or better yet, don't get behind the wheel when you're running on empty.

05 🗣️

Speak Up in the Car

If a friend is driving dangerously — phone out, swerving, impaired — say something. Being a good passenger might save both your lives. Real friends speak up.

06 🗺️

Set Your GPS Before You Go

Fumbling with navigation while driving is distraction. Pull over to reroute. Have a passenger handle it. One moment of looking down can end everything.
